ALLERGIES
 

An allergy is an unusual response of the body to an environmental agent. While most individuals may not be allergic to a particular item, some individuals are genetically predisposed to allergies to certain agents or become allergic as time goes by.

SINUSITUS

Sinusitis is a term used for inflammation of the sinus mucus membranes. Inflammation may be caused by infection, allergies, smoke, pollution, bacteria, fungi or viruses.

OBSTRUCTIVE
SLEEP APNEA

Apnea means stoppage or cessation of breathing that occurs during sleep. Typically cessation of breathing for two consecutive breaths or 10 seconds is considered significant from sleep perspective.

THE SINUS MIGRAINE CONNECTION

In general sinus headaches can occur in the same areas as migraines but are more likely to be a dull ache or a sense of head fullness or sinus pressure in the face or head. In acute sinus infections or acute baropressure, the pain may be more acute and severe.
